Tree Removal and Trimming Warning Signs
Common signs that a tree may need pruning, cleanup, or professional removal before it becomes a bigger problem.

Trees add shade and value, but damaged trees can become a property risk. Watch for hanging limbs, large dead branches, cracked trunks, fungus near the base, sudden leaning, or branches touching the roof.
What to know
After storms, inspect trees from a safe distance. Split limbs, fresh cracks, and lifted roots are reasons to call for help rather than trying to handle the work yourself.
Trimming can often solve problems before removal is needed. Pruning improves clearance, reduces weight on weak limbs, and helps sunlight reach lawns and planting beds.
Removal is usually considered when a tree is dead, severely damaged, too close to structures, or creating repeated safety and maintenance issues.
